One thing that might be useful to motivate the work above would be to
test existing HLS tools for stability by changing the metrics that
measured at the output of the HLS tools. For this, one would have to
reuse the script from Zewei and change the conditions that trigger a
bug. It should be expected that the size and latency of the designs
would change quite a lot though.

For example, synthesis tools already change quite a lot because of the
randomness that is introduced in the various stages. This can make
designs fluctuate by 10-15%, which means that optimisations that do not
add significantly more performance or area improvements might actually
not be contributing significantly.
